A new Adventure begins tomorrow

Well first off- welcome to my new site! This is “officially“ the first blog post I’m making, so please bare with me....I’m new to this part of the online world!

If you’ve made it here, you’re most likely a fellow model collector, builder, car enthusiast, or friend & im happy to see you here. For those that don’t know me, ”my name is Jason & I’m obsessed with cars”. 😛 I’ve been a general car enthusiast nearly my entire life and I’ll be the first to admit, IT IS AN OBSESSION! I grew up like many children- and had “favorite toys”...for me, that was definitively toy cars.

I cherished and coveted every single one, but as I got older...and bigger, so did the scale of the cars I wanted to collect. While tiny matchbox, hot wheels, and corgi cars still fascinated me, they couldn’t be taken apart easily and I was one of those kids that liked taking things apart, simply to see how they were assembled. So with that, my interests turned to the iconic 1:24 Plastic model car Kits. At the age 8, i convinced my mom to let me try one ....spray paint and all- I took my saved up allowance and purchased my first model Car kit (it was a Mustang II btw). As they say, the rest is a history Model building has been a trusted friend and confidant ever since.

At just shy of 40 years later, I’m still just as obsessed with the automobile-both real and those in 1:18 scale. Both forms of the automobile are something I’m extremely passionate about and as anyone that personally knows me can attest, I’m “OCD” when it comes to my real cars....and equally obsessive with model cars as well!

Over the years, I’ve amassed a rather large personal collection(roughly 200 models at present time) And the majority of them are “customized”. New paint jobs are my forte, but I’ve also done a lot of body customizing and other work. I had never considered it as a business prospect- I had sold some customs on eBay but never “touted“ my services. That said, an inquiry here and there would crop up....them one day, a buyer asked me if I’d be willing to repaint a stock model I had for sale. In essence, move to selling my services really wasn’t planned - in fact, it happened because of a purely random conversation with a fellow Miata enthusiast Interested in a custom Miata! I have to admit though, that purely random interaction is bringing me great joy.

So that brings us to the big new adventure....As of tomorrow, a new chapter in my scale modeling begins, as I’m delving into the world of 3D printing. The goal is to eventually get decent enough at designing and rendering, that I’ll be able to offer clients various parts to further enhance the commissioned model builds they have entrusted me with....and also offer stand alone parts to fellow model buolders and customizers.

Stay

tuned....its a new adventure that has me truly excited!
